The museum’s Research Center for Material Culture (RCMC) serves as a focal point for research on ethnographic collections in the Netherlands. On Thursday 21 May 2015 we will officially launch the RCMC, which will function as a hub within national and international networks of research partners.
During the launch the Head of the RCMC, Wayne Modest, will present our exciting current activities and plans for the future to you. We invite you to come and hear about the projects for which we have already received funding and plans for future research projects. We will launch our research fellowship program and tell you more about our public programs and opportunities for collaborative research with the RCMC. Several partners that already work with us will present their thoughts on the importance of research in museums and their ideas for possible collaboration. After the official program we invite you to join us at a small reception where we celebrate the official opening of the RCMC.
