In conjuction with the newly opened exhibition Unfinished Pasts in Wereldmuseum Amsterdam, Lifepatch collective and Kawan Pustaha, who have selected works on display in the exhibition will be leading a public workshop on lino printing. This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the art of cukil (carving), with traditional Batak decoration. Using images from The Great Pustaha manuscripts, attendees will learn how to carve their own intricate designs onto postcards or tote bags. The activity provides an opportunity to engage with the visual elements of Batak heritage, allowing participants to create personalized items while learning about the significance of these symbols in Batak culture.
